NEW DELHI, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi would leave for Argentina on Wednesday evening to attend the G20 summit to be held from Nov. 30 to Dec. 1.

"I will be visiting Buenos Aires from Thursday to attend the 13th G20 Summit hosted by Argentina," Modi said in a statement ahead of his departure.

"I look forward to meeting leaders from other G20 countries to review the work of G20 in the last ten years of its existence and chart the ways and means to meet the new and upcoming challenges of the coming decade. We will deliberate on the situation of global economy and trade, international financial and tax systems, the future of work, women empowerment, infrastructure and sustainable development," Modi said.

Officials said Modi will hold bilateral meetings with several leaders during the visit, including Chinese President Xi Jinping and United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

"Emerging economies, which played a major role in revitalizing the growth in the global economy pursuant to the financial crisis are today facing unprecedented economic and technological challenges," Modi said.

"I will highlight the need for reformed multilateralism which reflects the contemporary realities and can effectively strengthen collective action for global good," Modi added.

Indian official also said that BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) head of states will also meet on the sidelines of G20.
